Bye-Bye to Pain.
Well, being a facial Cosmetic Surgeon I perform lot of small Surgery & Procedures on Face over Facial Skin. Most Important thing from Patient point of view is Not to have Pain. “Will it be Painful? “ is most common Question. I use something called EMLA . Which is good Surface Anesthesia Cream. The lidocaine/prilocaine combination is indicated for Demal Anesthesia. Specifically it is applied to prevent pain associated with intravenous catheter insertion, blood sampling, superficial surgical procedures; and topical anaesthesia of leg ulcers for cleansing or debridement. Also, it can be used to numb the skin before tattooing as well as electrolysis and laser hair removal. It is also sometimes used in advance of injected local anaesthetics for minor surgery and biopsies.
A topical spray consisting of an aerosol formulation of lidocaine and prilocaine was evaluated under the name PSD502 for use in treating premature ejaculation. The spray is applied on the penile skin prior to intercourse. While this formulation was not approved by the FDA a similar product, Promscent , is available over the counter in the U.S.
So say bye bye to Pain with just cream one can use before Waxing, Small Tag Removal, Pimple, Acne Removal, Black Heads removal .

Facial plastic & Cosmetic Surgery- Most Common Question.

How long will cosmetic facial surgery procedures last?
This is one of the most common questions asked. In short, we cannot stop the clock, but we can turn it back. Hopefully, most cosmetic facial procedures will last a decade (sometimes longer for some patients and shorter for others.) Mother Nature and time march on and it is unrealistic to think that any procedure is permanent as we are not permanent. If you had a twin sibling and you had a facelift and she did not, then you will probably look younger forever. So, depending how you look at it, cosmetic facial surgery is a good long term investment. Also in the consideration of how long a procedure will last one must consider multiple factors such as genetics, compliance and lifestyle. Unfortunately, some patients just don’t have good skin texture and elasticity. These patients will age quicker before and after cosmetic facial surgery because it is in their genetic code. Other patients will age faster after a cosmetic procedure because they do not change their lifestyle and continue with sun damage, smoking, and over eating. Having cosmetic surgery is a good time for one to change ones habits and embrace a healthier lifestyle to look and feel better.

Although my practice is limited to cosmetic facial surgery of the head and neck,  Some of these patients are referred for Botox injection in the facial muscles that involve facial pain syndromes, TMJ and TMD.  Relaxing these muscles can improve the patients pain and function and decrease stress on the jaw joint. Basically Botox inhibits the Acetyl choline Secretions from Nerve endings which stops the all possible sorts of Sensation including Pain. Its temporary but sometimes big Relief to Ptients.
